One helium droplet at a time
Simulating nature’s cosmic laboratory
A new nanocalorimetry technique for characterization of the energetics of low-temperature surface reactions. The method was developed by Thomas K. Henning and Serge A. Krasnokutski in order to perform accurate measurements of reaction energies that can be used to understand chemical reactions under space conditions – including those reactions that were responsible of creating organic chemicals as the raw material for the development of life.
The video was rendered using Blender/2.80. The 3D geometry is by Sergiy Krasnokutskiy.
