Workshops at the Haus der Astronomie
The Haus der Astronomie offers a wide range of astronomical workshops for school classes and kindergarten groups. The spectrum of topics ranges from a journey to the moon aimed at younger children to star spectroscopy for high school students. In each of these workshops, participants take part in several different astronomical activities or conduct hands-on experiments, thus expanding their knowledge of astronomical concepts and interrelations. Special knowledge is not required.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, workshop operations at the HdA are paused until further notice. Depending on the development of the pandemic situation, we hope to hold smaller events at the Haus der Astronomie again from the end of September 2021. The number of participants is expected to be significantly limited.
The workshops for kindergarten groups and schools take place from Monday to Friday in the Haus der Astronomie and last for three hours for primary and secondary schools and 1.5 hours for kindergarten children. Dates and focal topics are agreed individually in advance with the workshop leader.
The cost of the event is calculated according to the number of participating children or students; accompanying persons are free.
For small groups of less than 10 participants, the contribution towards costs is a flat rate of € 40 for 1.5-hour events and € 70 for three-hour events. Payment can be made in cash on the day or by invoice. If there are difficulties in financing for individual students or entire classes, please contact us. We want to ensure that anyone who is interested can visit the Haus der Astronomie.
For families, we offer special workshops.
The Haus der Astronomie is barrier-free, so on request all workshops are also suitable for children with disabilities. We are happy to put together an individual program for you.
Since the demand for workshops is always high, please book your desired date as early as possible.
