"Astronomie für Alle" exhibition on Mainau island

The exhibition developed by Haus der Astronomie (HdA) can be seen on the "Floral isle" of Mainau in Lake Constance from May 10 to September 22, 2019

How does it feel to hold a real meteorite in your hand? How far does a planet need to be from its host star for life to evolve? What is the source of the energy that makes stars shine brightly? These and many other basic astronomy questions are answered by the exhibition "Astronomie für Alle" ("Astronomy for everybody") developed by Haus der Astronomie and the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy.

In collaboration with the Lennart Bernadote Foundation,  the exhibition's interactive exhibits are on display in the castle on Mainau Island in Lake Constance until 22 September 2019. Markus Pössel, HdA's managing scientist, says: "We're very happy about this collaboration. Mainau island is a first-rate tourist attraction and thus an ideal place to get a substantial audience interested in astronomy." The island's motto for 2019 is "Sun, Moon and Stars".

The exhibition was made possible through the support of the Klaus Tschira Foundation. Previously, the exhibition had been on display at "Explore Science", the Klaus Tschira Foundation's annual science fair, in Mannheim and Bremen.
